A further arrest has been made in the Kieran McGrath murder investigation.

At around 10.25pm on Saturday 4 October 2014, 26-year-old Kieran was found collapsed outside Ashton police station on Manchester Road suffering serious injury.

He made his way to the police station after being shot. Police officers and paramedics who had been called to the station tried to resuscitate him but sadly he was pronounced dead at the scene within minutes.

Kieran had been inside the Sheldon Arms pub with friends from around 8.50pm.

At 9.55pm, two men on a Suzuki Bandit 600cc motorbike drove onto the car park of the pub and waited for five minutes. One of them walked to the back of the pub before both drove to the front at 10pm.

At around 10:20pm, Kieran walked out of the main entrance and onto the car park before walking to a white Audi A3.

When he reached the car, four shots were fired in his direction with one hitting him.

Following the shooting, the bike was seen on Charlestown Road, Blackley at 10.26pm before it was found burnt out on Boggart Hole Clough on Tuesday 7 October 2014 near to the entrance of Pinfold Avenue.

Post mortem results show Kieran died from a single gunshot wound to the chest.

Police have now arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of murder and he remains in custody for questioning.

A 30-year-old man handed himself into police and was arrested on suspicion of murder. He was bailed until 9 December 2014.

A dentist has been jailed after continuing to practise after being suspended by the General Dental Council.

Amir Kamburov, 42 (8.1.72) of Poplar Road South SW19 was jailed for 24 weeks at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 4 November after having previously pled guilty to two counts of false representation and one count of unlawfully practising dentistry at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on 24 October.  He was also required to pay £1,000 compensation to the victim and £400 Court costs.

Kamburov was suspended from practising dentistry by a General Dental Council professional conduct committee for clinical and behavioural misconduct on 11 July 2012.

He was jailed for seven weeks at South West London Magistrates Court in December 2012 when convicted of two counts of making false representation and three counts of practising dentistry when not registered, after he tried to obtain drugs with a prescription written by himself.  He was released from prison on 21 January 2013.

Despite his suspension, a week later on 29 January 2013, a 30-year-old woman was treated by Kamburov at his home practice in Poplar Road South. She was treated on further occasions between April and October 2013 at the Morden Dental Practice, Crown Lane, Morden.

Detective Constable Mark Smith from the MPS Drugs Directorate said: “Kamburov thought he could operate outside of the law. He was wrong. Unregistered dentists and unregistered doctors are a danger to the public. If you receive treatment from a private doctor or dentist it is easy to check whether they are appropriately registered via the relevant regulatory body website – the GMC or GDC.”

A 74-year-old man has been given an Anti-Social Behaviour Order banning him from an area of Caterham town centre for five years.

James Johnson, of no fixed abode, was responsible for a series of public order offences which led to the ASBO being issued, including defecating in public, urinating on shop windows, and swearing at Police Officers.

James Johnson exclusion zone James Johnson

Tandridge Safer Neighbourhood Team Inspector Angie Austin said: “The type of appalling behaviour displayed by James Johnson is something we will never tolerate as it has no place in our society.

“Throughout the last few months we worked hard with other agencies to put in place assistance for him. It became apparent that the support being offered was either being abused or not being taken up.

“It is particularly gratifying to hear that the Magistrates commended PC Wayne Stephens, the local officer, for going above and beyond what was required in order to secure help for Mr Johnson.

“We were left with no other option but to use anti-social behaviour and criminal legislation. Bringing this ASBO before the court was the result of a huge amount of hard work by our officers and I hope it reassures the community that we take their concerns seriously and will look at all of the options available in order to deal with them.”

The conditions of the ASBO, issued at Redhill Magistrates Court on Monday (November 3), prohibit Johnson from:

•Entering the exclusion zone as outlined on the map
•Using abusive or threatening language or use intimidating behaviour including exposing his genitalia in a public place
•Urinating in a public place
•Making any 999 call unless in the event of a genuine emergency, medical or otherwise

The exclusion zone covers Station Avenue from the junctions with Harestone Hill Road and Stafford Road, to the roundabout with Church Walk and Croydon Road, and from Station Avenue to Highfield Drive until its junction with Croydon Road. The conditions apply until November 2, 2019. Breaching any of the conditions is an offence.

Johnson was also fined £50 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20 after failing to appear at Redhill Magistrates Court on September 1. He had previously been released on bail until August 6.

If anyone sees James Johnson breaching any of the conditions they should contact Surrey Police by calling 101, or report it online at http://www.surrey.police.uk/.

A man was startled when he awoke to find a thief in his bedroom and was then robbed of jewellery.

It happened at the 71-year-old man’s home on Shrewsbury Court in Old Trafford at about 3.20am on Friday 7 November 2014.

The offender broke in through the window and went into the man’s bedroom where he was sleeping, grabbing him by the wrists and threatening to break his fingers if he did not give him money.

He also threatened to stab the homeowner with a knife although no weapon was actually seen.

The thief then stole two rings and a watch the victim was wearing at the time before fleeing.

Unfortunately, the man did not get a look at the offender and cannot provide a description.

The first ring is described as being a 21 carat gold horse shoe ring with a horse’s head in the centre. The second was a 19 carat gold band with a gold square design and the initials BAB engraved, albeit now very faded.

The watch was square shaped with a white face, a gold coloured trim and a dark brown leather strap.

Police have now issued a still of a ring that is very similar to the one stolen and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Rachel Smith said: “This man was startled to find an intruder in his bedroom, and then subjected to a very frightening ordeal including threats by the offender to stab him and break his fingers.

“He had no idea if the offender would make good on these threats and quite understandably is extremely upset.

“We need to find the offender who subjected this man to such a horrific ordeal and that is why I am appealing for the public’s help.

“Although we do not have a description of the offender, we do have good descriptions of the jewellery stolen and have released a picture of a very similar ring, so I would ask that people look at these descriptions and if you are offered jewellery like this then please call us immediately.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
